I am also a senior Meteorology major here at Lyndon pursuing a degree in the Graduate School,
Broadcasting, National Weather Service, and Private Industry tracks. Living to the northwest
of Boston, I have seen my fair share of snowstorms and while tropical meteorology is my true
passion, coastal storms have always been a close second. My goal for this research project is
to improve the accuracy of winter weather forecasts by identifying which tracks result in a heavy
snowfall for a specified region of the world. I believe that the maps I produce also assist in
the identification of smaller scale processes occurring within the system such as Mesoscale
Banding and the effect of terrain.
