A line of intense supercells
developed ahead of a strong cold front over southern Wisconsin and
subsequently moved into central IL and western IN. The supercells
produced a number of tornadoes in central IL. By the time the system
moved into western IN, a line echo wave pattern (LEWP) radar signature was
observed on the southern end of the line. Detailed ground and aerial
surveys showed that this feature produced a small W-E oriented swath of F0
straight-line wind damage centered on the town of Wingate, IN. Most of
the damage was blown-over trees. The roof of a metal utility shed was
also severely damaged. |
