Forecast Discussion:
A warm front to our south will be pushing northward across our region later
today. This warm front will deliver clouds and light snow that will bring light
accumulation of 1-3 inches to the Northeast Kingdom. Warm air will work its way
to our region starting at the mid-levels. This will force the snow to
transition to sleet and freezing rain overnight tonight, and finally to rain
showers tomorrow morning. Once the warm front lifts to our north, we will have
temperatures much above average for this time of year during the day tomorrow.


Tuesday  (Jan 31, 2012)
Snow showers will continue to increase in coverage and eventually result in a
band of light snow that will set up this afternoon, and bring a period of
steady light snow. We may see a brief burst of moderate snow at times during
the mid-afternoon. The steady light snow will taper off to snow showers this
evening. Light accumulation of 1-3 inches expected. Highs around 30. SSE wind
0-5 mph.

Tuesday Night (Jan 31, 2012)
Snow showers overnight tonight will transition to a mix of snow, sleet, and
rain showers around midnight from south to north. A period of light freezing
rain is likely for the morning hours before transitioning to rain showers by
8am. This will result in slick roads for the morning commute. Lows in the mid
to upper 20s. SSE wind 0-5 mph.

Wednesday  (Feb 01, 2012)
Scattered freezing rain showers in the morning will transition to rain showers.
Rain showers will decrease in area coverage as the day progresses. Otherwise
cloudy and mild with highs around 40. SW wind 4-8 mph.

Wednesday Night (Feb 01, 2012)
Cloudy with a chance of an isolated snow shower. Cool, lows around 20. NW wind
0-5 mph.

High: F  Low: 17-23F 

Thursday  (Feb 02, 2012)
Mostly cloudy. Highs around 30. North wind 0-5 mph.

High: 27-31F  Low: F
