LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Timothy Studebaker Forecast Posted on Thursday Sep 24, 2009 18:32 ** The latest forecast for Northeast** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties** Forecast Discussion: After a very dry start to September, a good amount of rainfall fell on the area Wednesday night with the passage of a cold front. Prior to Wednesday, St. Johnsbury had recorded 0.26 inches of rain for the entire month. Once the rain ended last night, we had received an additional 1.34 inches Wednesday alone. The rain has moved out now, leaving us with a mix of sun and clouds on Thursday. Clouds will be on the increase Thursday night as another cold front moves through. There isn’t a lot of moisture associated with this front, so rain is unlikely. We can’t completely rule out a stray shower throughout the night, but most of the area won’t see rain out of this event. The clouds hold on through late afternoon on Friday with temperatures reaching into the upper 50’s and lower 60’s. High pressure begins to settle in and we clear out and cool down overnight Friday with temperatures dropping to the upper 20’s and lower 30’s. Saturday looks to be beautiful with this high pressure giving us clear blue skies. A low pressure system approaches overnight into Sunday, though, bringing with it some clouds and then a pretty good shot at some rainfall throughout the day on Sunday.
