LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Timothy Studebaker Forecast Posted on Thursday Sep 17, 2009 14:56 ** The latest forecast for Northeast** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties** Forecast Discussion: Thursday started off with plenty of cloud cover thanks to an upper level disturbance that moved in. Those clouds will stick around throughout Thursday night and into Friday before a cold front passes through. The cold front looks to be a quick moving front, passing through around late morning. Widespread rain showers will be quick to follow, bringing us a brief shot of rain. Once the rain moves out, high pressure will begin to build in overnight Friday and into Saturday. We'll start off with breezy conditions while the high pressure builds in, but once it settles in we'll begin to calm down and cooler, calmer weather will take hold for the rest of Saturday and into Sunday, with temperatures hovering around or below freezing during the nighttime hours. This zone of high pressure begins to move off the coast on Sunday, and as a result we'll see our winds turn out of the south. This, paired with plenty of sunshine, will help our temperatures rebound into the upper 60's and possibly even the lower 70's during the day on Sunday. Thursday Night (Sep 17, 2009) Mostly cloudy with a low around 46. Light winds out of the south. High: F Low: 40-46F Friday (Sep 18, 2009) Cloudy to start the day, followed by widespread rain showers during the late morning/early afternoon hours. High: 56-62F Low: F Friday Night (Sep 18, 2009) Mostly cloudy to start the evening, followed by clearing skies overnight. Cooler, with lows around 34-40. Breezy northwest winds overnight. High: F Low: 34-40F Saturday (Sep 19, 2009) Clearing throughout the morning, with breezy conditions beginning to calm down. Cooler, with highs around 53-59. Calm conditions and less cloud cover overnight mean that temperatures will bottom out around 29-34 degrees. High: 53-59F Low: 29-34F Sunday (Sep 20, 2009) Clear skies and plenty of sunshine paired with southerly winds mean temperatures will rebound nicely to around 65-71 degrees.
