Forecast Discussion: Strong high pressure located over eastern Canada is protecting the region from a storm off the mid-atlantic coast. Cloudiness associated with this storm extends as far north as southern New England. In the meantime, high pressure to the north will continue to strengthen and keep these clouds to the south through Thursday. By Friday, the high pressure that has kept our skies mostly clear is forecast to move east, allowing high clouds to intrude from the south. Mostly cloudy skies will start the weekend on Saturday, but another high pressure cell will build southeast from Canada helping to bring mostly sunny conditions back for Sunday. Wednesday Evening (Sep 09, 2009) Mostly clear with patchy fog developing, particularly in the valleys. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 40s through midnight. High: F Low: 45-50F Thursday Morning (Sep 10, 2009) Patchy dense valley fog. Patchy frost also possible in Essex county. Morning lows in the mid 30s to low 40s, with the coldest temperatures occurring in Essex county. Coolest readings will occur on the higher elevations near the Canadian border with the warmest readings in the valleys. High: 68-74F Low: F Thursday Night (Sep 10, 2009) Mostly clear early with patchy dense valley fog reforming towards morning. Lows in the upper 30s to mid 40s.
