** The latest forecast for Northeastern Vermont **
** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties **

Forecast Discussion:
A trough of low pressure that brought clouds and showers to the area Wednesday
night has moved on, and we saw some clearing during the afternoon on Thursday.
A cold front will push through Thursday evening, bringing us some clouds and
showers. Behind the front, temperatures will drop quickly, from highs in the
upper 50s during Thursday afternoon, all the way to the upper 20s by Friday
morning. We clear out behind the front as well, leading to a sunny, but cool,
Friday. Friday evening, some high clouds will start to move in ahead of a
strengthening low pressure system. Clouds will lower and thicken throughout the
night, leading to rainfall by Saturday morning. Periods of rain throughout
Saturday could be heavy at times with total rainfall accumulations possibly
reaching 1-2”. Unsettled conditions remain in place for Sunday with leftover
clouds and showers, especially in the morning.


Thursday Evening (Oct 22, 2009)
Evening rain followed by clearing skies overnight. Lows around 25-30 degrees.
Light north winds.

High: F  Low: 25-30F 

Friday  (Oct 23, 2009)
Mostly sunny with highs around 43-48 degrees. Light north winds.

High: 43-48F  Low: F 

Friday Night (Oct 23, 2009)
Clouds moving in overnight. Lows around 32-37 degrees. Winds turning southeast,
but remaining light.

High: F  Low: 32-37F 

Saturday  (Oct 24, 2009)
Periods of rain. Rain could be heavy at times. Total rainfall accumulations
could reach 1-2". Highs around 47-52. South to southeast winds around 10-15 mph
gusting to 20 mph. Showers persisting overnight. Lows around 39-46 degrees.
Southeast winds calming and turning northwest by morning.

High: 47-52F  Low: 39-46F 

Sunday  (Oct 25, 2009)
Leftover clouds and showers, especially in the morning. Light northwest winds
turning westerly during the day. Highs around 52-57 degrees. Showers diminish
and clouds begin to clear out overnight. Lows around 32-37 degrees.

High: 52-57F  Low: 32-37F
