LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Timothy Studebaker Forecast Posted on Thursday Oct 22, 2009 15:26 ** The latest forecast for Northeastern Vermont ** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties ** Forecast Discussion: A trough of low pressure that brought clouds and showers to the area Wednesday night has moved on, and we saw some clearing during the afternoon on Thursday. A cold front will push through Thursday evening, bringing us some clouds and showers. Behind the front, temperatures will drop quickly, from highs in the upper 50s during Thursday afternoon, all the way to the upper 20s by Friday morning. We clear out behind the front as well, leading to a sunny, but cool, Friday. Friday evening, some high clouds will start to move in ahead of a strengthening low pressure system. Clouds will lower and thicken throughout the night, leading to rainfall by Saturday morning. Periods of rain throughout Saturday could be heavy at times with total rainfall accumulations possibly reaching 1-2”. Unsettled conditions remain in place for Sunday with leftover clouds and showers, especially in the morning. Thursday Evening (Oct 22, 2009) Evening rain followed by clearing skies overnight.
