LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Timothy Studebaker Forecast Posted on Thursday Oct 15, 2009 15:08 ** The latest forecast for Northeastern Vermont ** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties ** Forecast Discussion: We’ve been in a very cool pattern lately with temperatures running 10-20 degrees below average over the past several days. Thursday has been no exception The average high in St. Johnsbury for Thursday is 58 degrees. As of m id-afternoon, Lyndonville has only gotten into the mid-30s. Temperatures look to moderate over the next couple of days, but will still be about 10 degrees or so below average. We have a low pressure system brushing by to our Thursday afternoon, and that, along with an upper level trough, has been providing us with some cloud cover. A ridge passes through Thursday evening, which will clear out some of those clouds, but by Friday morning, more clouds move in with a trough of low pressure moving through. A weak ridge will provide some partial clearing for Saturday before another low pressure system develops to our south, providing clouds and possibly some rain showers (snow showers at higher elevations) on Sunday. The storm slowly passes to our south and east, leaving unsettled conditions for Monday, before a ridge clears us out for Tuesday.
