LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Timothy Studebaker Forecast Posted on Thursday Oct 8, 2009 17:33 ** The latest forecast for Northeastern Vermont ** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties ** Forecast Discussion: The clouds have been difficult to shake off on Thursday thanks to a recently departed low pressure system. This low is currently to our east over the Canadian Maritimes. A ridge of high pressure has been trying to build in, which would break up the clouds, but it has been slow in doing so. Eventually, as we move through Thursday evening, we’ll see that ridge clear us out for a short time before another low pressure system approaches. Clouds will be on the increase on Friday, in advance of this system, and rain will soon follow as the system passes to our south. By Saturday morning, the low will have moved to our east, but an upper level disturbance will remain. This means that we’ll see a few leftover clouds and showers, but as high pressure builds in once again, these clouds and showers will soon depart. The weekend looks great right through Sunday afternoon, but clouds and showers will start to build in once more with the passing of a cold front during the evening.
