LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Steve Breault Forecast Posted on Friday Nov 13, 2009 22:53 ** The latest forecast for Northeastern Vermont ** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties ** Forecast Discussion: High pressure that's currently over Nova Scotia will move towards New Brunsiwck through Saturday. This feature has protected us from the strong nor'easter that has been battering the Mid-Atlantic coast since midweek. With the high moving east, we'll see moisture from the storm system slowly advance northward through New England throughout today and tomorrow. Fortunately, the storm itself is forecast to remain hundreds of miles southeast of New England while it decays; However, moisture will peel off the storm and showers could start moving into the region as soon as Saturday afternoon. Showers will become more numerous Saturday night as a moist southeast flow draws moisture from the Atlantic. Sunday looks to remain cloudy but warmer ahead of the arrival of the next cold front Sunday night. More seasonable temperatures and sunny skies return to the Northeast Kingdom to start the week as high pressure builds in from the west.
