LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Steve Breault Forecast Posted on Friday Nov 6, 2009 15:43 ** The latest forecast for Northeastern Vermont ** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties ** Forecast Discussion: Cloudiness still plagues the area from an intense nor’easter that’s affecting the Canadian Maritimes. Meanwhile, ridge of high pressure extends from northern Quebec to the southeast United States. Satellite imagery reveals the back edge of the clouds is slowly eroding eastward from central upstate New York. We will see this clearing trend work into the Northeast Kingdom tonight. The ridge crests over the region Saturday morning. Warmer air will flow northward on the back side of the ridge during Saturday. Clouds will also be on the increase during the time before a weak trough brushes by the area Saturday night. By Sunday the ridge rebuilds into the northeast and the pleasant autumn weather continues.
