LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Timothy Lavigne Forecast Posted on Wednesday Nov 4, 2009 16:04 ** The latest forecast for Northeastern Vermont ** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties ** Forecast Discussion: A winter-like scenario is setting up for the end of the week in the northeast kingdom. A storm system taking shape in the midwest in the form of an upper level trough will make its way into our area tonight, which will adversely affect our weather for Thursday. As the storm redevelops off the coast of North Carolina, with the bulk of its energy moving out to sea, we will be spared of the major effects of this winter storm. However, the trough that is supplying the energy for this redevelopment will pass through, gracing us with widespread rain showers tomorrow, with snow in elevations above 2500 ft, which will transition to widespread snow showers with the cooling of the day. As always, storm track will play a crucial role to the amount of precipitation (and precipitation type) that we will see, so stay tuned to the LSC weather center for further updates.
