LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Matthew DiPirro Forecast Posted on Thursday May 7, 2009 10:23 ** The latest forecast for Northeast** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties** Forecast Discussion: The Northeast Kingdom can expect this unsettled pattern to linger through the weekend as multiple areas of low pressure move through. The low pressure responsible for the most recent rainfall will continue to move northeast of the area today but drizzle, fog, and a few showers are expected through tonight. Another upper level disturbance will rotate through Friday afternoon and touch off showers with the chance of a rumble of thunder later in the day. The best day of the forecast period appears to be Saturday as a few breaks of sunshine are possible throughout the day as temperatures warm nicely into the 70s. However, any significant sunshine will create elevated instability and as a result, there is a chance of a scattered thunderstorm. Thursday Afternoon (May 07, 2009) Scattered showers, drizzle, and areas of fog giving way to overcast skies through the evening. Southwest wind around 5 mph with higher gusts by late afternoon.
