LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Matthew DiPirro Forecast Posted on Thursday Mar 12, 2009 10:18 ** The latest forecast for Northeast** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties** Forecast Discussion: After a rainy day Wednesday, the Northeast Kingdom will be graced with a nice stretch of weather through this weekend as an area of high pressure builds in from the west. This area of high pressure will also keep the area protected from an active weather pattern across the southern United States. Expect mixed clouds and sun through this evening as strong northwest flow helps trigger terrain-induced cloudiness over the mountains. Luckily, the sunshine will return in full swing on Friday with deep blue skies and lighter winds. The first part of the weekend will be dry but with warming temperatures and sunshine. Nighttime lows over the next few days will be very cold with some places dropping below zero, especially Thursday night. This means with daytime highs by the weekend above freezing and nighttime lows below freezing, it will be prime weather for maple sugaring.
