LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Alison Ciaramitaro Forecast Posted on Wednesday Mar 11, 2009 09:23 ** The latest forecast for Northeast** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties** !!! Watches, Warnings and Advisories !!! COMBINED WITH SNOW MELT, RAINFALL WILL CAUSE AREA RIVERS TO RISE SHARPLY TODAY AND INTO THIS EVENING AND THE POTENTIAL FOR ICE JAM FLOODING EXISTS ESPECIALLY IN NORTHERN COUNTIES. Forecast Discussion: Rain and rising temperatures are results of a warm front that moved across the area this morning. This will bring a risk flooding with potential ice jamming later today. A cold front will then move across the Northeast Kingdom dropping temperatures which could allow wet roadways to freeze, so exercise caution later this afternoon and tonight. Friday an area of high pressure will move east from the Mississippi Valley bringing sunny skies and a much needed break from precipitation. Wednesday (Mar 11, 2009) Rain coming to an end before 2pm.
