LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Matthew Clegg Forecast Posted on Monday Mar 9, 2009 09:11 ** The latest forecast for Northeast** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties** Forecast Discussion: The Kingdom will be entering a very active weather pattern over the next few days with two storms in three days. The first of which is occuring now, a weak area of low pressure is moving to our south this morning across southern New England. With it, we will have light snow accumulations throughout the area. Following this storm, high pressure will be moving down from Canada for Tuesday, allowing for fair but warm conditions. But, this will be short lived as the next storm will be developing over the central plain states and will track well to our west. This will bring a brief period of snow showers before transitioning to rain showers for the remainder of Wednesday. Monday Afternoon (Mar 09, 2009) A brief period of light to moderate snow will be coming to an end around 2PM, where the snow will then taper to snow showers. East winds 5-10 mph. High: 26 to 33F Low: F Monday Night (Mar 09, 2009) Snow showers will be coming to an end between 6 and 10PM. Total snow accumulations will be light in nature, generally 1-3". Winds will be diminishing with the snow, becoming light and variable after 8PM. High: F Low: 11 to 19F Tuesday Afternoon (Mar 10, 2009) Some peaks of sun may be visible in the morning hours but those gaps in the clouds will quickly be filled by the afternoon hours. Light and variable winds. High: 39 to 47F Low: F Tuesday Night (Mar 10, 2009) Snow showers developing after 2AM. South winds 5-10 mph. High: F Low: 24 to 32F Wednesday (Mar 11, 2009) Snow showers switching to rain showers during the morning hours. Light rain showers will continue be present throughout most of the day. South winds 10-15 mph, becoming Northwest 5-10 mph after 8PM. High: 41 to 49F Low: 11 to 19F Next Update: by 1PM Tuesday
