LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Matt Clegg Forecast Posted on Monday Apr 20, 2009 08:50 ** The latest forecast for Northeast** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties** Forecast Discussion: A major change to the weather here in the Kingdom is on its way starting tonight. A low pressure system will be moving into the Great Lakes region over the next 12 hours. Typically the storm system would continue and track to our northwest, but this is not a typical case. The upper level ridge that has been providing us bountiful amounts of sunshine and pristine weather will be moving to the east but it will not be moving off the coast very quickly. This will leave the low pressure system over the Great Lakes to sit and spin for several days, providing the area with some much needed rain (up to an inch by Thursday morning) to lower the fire danger across the region.
