Watches, Warnings and Advisories !!! ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BURLINGTON HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG WARNING FOR THE ENTIRE CHAMPLAIN VALLEY AS WELL AS CENTRAL AND NORTHERN VERMONT...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING. THE FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT. A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW...OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL CREATE EXPLOSIVE FIRE GROWTH POTENTIAL. Forecast Discussion: A blocking high has taken control of our weather, and will continue do so for the entire work week. This high pressure system will provide the kingdom with a week of warm temperatures and low humidity. Which, because the trees have not started to "green-up" thirty-forty degree temperature swings from morning lows to afternoon highs are not out of the question.
