LSC Northeast Kingdom Forecast Student Meteorologist: Matthew Clegg Forecast Posted on Friday Dec 7, 2007 16:16 ** The latest forecast for Northeast** ** including Caledonia, Orleans, and Essex Counties** Forecast Discussion: A weak storm system that originated to our northwest is sweeping just to the south of the region as we speak. This weak system is what is responsible for our cloudiness today and a possible snow shower(s) during the overnight hours. But have no fear, the sunshine that has long eluded us for the majority of this past week will make a brief appearance during the day on Saturday. As I just said this appearance of the sun will be brief; as during the morning on Sunday the clouds will start to migrate back into the Northeast Kingdom associated with another weak disturbance that will be passing to the south. This system could spark off some more snow showers during the night on Sunday as it does pass by. So if it is the sun you've been looking for, I'd recommend making good use of what we will see of it on Saturday. Friday Night (Dec 07, 2007) Slight chance of a snow shower during the overnight hours. Accumalations will only be from a dusting to an inch. Winds will be light and out of the south. High: -F Low: 15-21F Saturday Afternoon (Dec 08, 2007) Decreasing clouds during the day becoming partly cloudy. South winds 5-10 turning westerly. High: 25-31F Low: -F Saturday Night (Dec 08, 2007) A cold night under partly cloudy skies. The winds will be calm. High: -F Low: -2 - 4F Sunday Afternoon (Dec 09, 2007) Increasing cloudiness during the morning will leave us with a mostly cloudy sky during for the remainder of the day. High: 14-20F Low: -F Sunday Night (Dec 09, 2007) Hit or miss snow showers will be moving through the region during the overnight. Any new snow accumalations will be less than one inch.
