Professional Interests and Activities:

Werner specializes in synoptic meteorology and incorporates web-based forecasting and current weather map discussions into all the courses he teaches. His Ph.D. dissertation analyzed the effect of powerful mid-latitude storms on planetary-scale eneregy reservoirs and he has written a peer-reviewed article on the subject. His current research interests include the role of humans in the forecasting process.
