• Most objects are not black bodies, but are gray bodies.
• The amount of radiation emitted by a gray body is:

where epsilon is the emissivity. Note that is is wavelength dependent.

• if epsilon is equal to 1, then you have a black body
• if epsilon is equal to 0, then you have a white body
