Climate Change - Nuclear Winter

• It's been theorized that a nuclear attack could have adverse affects on global climate

• explosions would produce plumes of particles injected into that atmosphere

• more significantly, large numbers of fires would belch a huge amount of black, sooty smoke into the atmosphere.

• smoke will reflect incoming solar radiation - thus cooling the lower troposphere

• surface temps would drop

• atmosphere would become more stable
