WHAT IT TAKES
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE METEOROLOGY PROGRAM
This is what you should have gotten out of this class thus far:
- Be motivated, work hard, don't give up! Remember
your role model........
- Turn in your assignments, and do so on time
- Take advantage of resources available to you if
encountering difficulties: peernet, upper class met majors, math lab,
english lab, your professors!!
- Figure out how to effectively manage your time:
- lay out your schedule in a weekly planner
- prioritize your tasks
- be organized
- learn how to listen effectively in class and take good
notes:
- be alert, ask questions
- listen for the key points
- note taking is a process - work it!
- develop circles of friends, get involved - support
networks
- take care of yourself, eat well, get some exercise
- Develop effective study skills and habits:
- don't cram for a test the night before
- study many days in advance for a test
- assess your level of understanding - communicate the
material
- make time for studying - time management
- Test taking:
- don't stress out about the exam
- get into your zone
- focus on the test
- Be well rested
- make sure to answer all questions.
