WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE METEOROLOGY PROGRAM

This is what you should have gotten out of this class thus far:

1. Be motivated, work hard, don't give up!  Remember your role model........
2. Turn in your assignments, and do so on time
3. Take advantage of resources available to you if encountering difficulties: peernet, upper class met majors, math lab, english lab, your professors!!
4. Figure out how to effectively manage your time:
   • lay out your schedule in a weekly planner
   • prioritize your tasks
   • be organized
5. learn how to listen effectively in class and take good notes:
   • be alert, ask questions
   • listen for the key points
   • note taking is a process - work it!
6. develop circles of friends, get involved - support networks
7. take care of yourself, eat well, get some exercise
8. Develop effective study skills and habits:
   1. don't cram for a test the night before
   2. study many days in advance for a test
   3. assess your level of understanding - communicate the material
   4. make time for studying - time management
9. Test taking:
   1. don't stress out about the exam
   2. get into your zone
   3. focus on the test
   4. Be well rested
   5. make sure to answer all questions.
